RR vs CSK: MS Dhoni runs out Dhruv Jurel with a direct hit

One of the greatest ever behind the stumps, MS Dhoni's alertness behind the stumps runs out Dhruv Jurel in the Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings on Thursday. Dhoni was quick to latch onto the ball and took a shy at the stumps which resulted in Dhurv's dismissal.

The incident took place in the 20th over of the Royals' innings. Matheesha Pathirana bowled a wide ball down the leg to Devdutt Padikkal. MS Dhoni collected it cleanly and while Dhurv was on the charge to complete the run, MS Dhoni was quick to lighten the stumps. Dhurv's innings came to an end who was striking the ball quite nicely.

Jurel scored 34 runs off just 15 balls at a strike rate of 226.67, including two sixes and three boundaries. The 22-year-old also shared a 48-run partnership off just 20 balls with Devdutt Padikkal for the fifth wicket to ensure a 200+ total for the hosts.

RR vs CSK: Rajasthan Royals post the highest-ever total in IPL at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium

Winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Sanju's team was off with a flyer. It was once again the effective duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler who got the team a quick start. Seldom do we see a strike of over 150 being overshadowed by someone. Jaiswal, who was striking everything that came his way, forced Buttler to take a back seat and enjoy his show. Jaiswal was looking at his premium best. Scoring 77 runs off just 43 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes.

Buttler, Dhruv, and Padikkal chipped in with vital contributions to take the team's total to over 200 runs. 202 runs on the board became the highest-ever total at this venue in IPL, the previous best being 197 runs. With two losses on the trot, RR will look to turn things around for themselves in this game.
