Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming also confirmed in the post-match presser that the captain MS Dhoni is nursing a knee injury.

In his 200th game as captain for Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni almost pulled off a magnificent chase against Rajasthan Royals. With a magnificent knock of 32 runs in 17 balls, He almost got CSK over the line against Rajasthan. After the match, CSK Coach Stephen Fleming dropped a bombshell on Chennai Super Kings fans. He informed that Captain MS Dhoni was having a problem with his knee and was batting in pain against Rajasthan Royals. MS Dhoni smashed a four and 3 big sixes during his innings.

MS Dhoni smacked two back to back sixes against Sandeep Sharma in the final over while chasing 21 runs in 6 balls. Sandeep kept his calm and executed his Yorkers nicely to help RR gain 2 points from the game. After Stephen Fleming’s statement, a video is doing the rounds on the internet where MS Dhoni can be seen limping off from the field. MS Dhoni’s injury is not a big concern about his participation in the upcoming game. MS Dhoni has been enjoying his time in the crease. Dhoni has scored 58 runs in 3 innings batting at number 8 for CSK in the IPL 2023. He was dismissed only once in those 3 innings.

Chennai Super Kings are at number five in the IPL 2023 points table. They have played 4 games so far and won twice and lost twice this season. MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja almost took CSK to the top of the table but Sandeep’s grit had other plans. Chennai will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next game. Chennai will be traveling to M Chinnaswamy Stadium for the first time since the pandemic impacted the IPL schedule.
