Watch - MS Dhoni’s viral video of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi

MS Dhoni was seen showering Ganpati Bappa's idol with flowers.

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was captured celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai and the video of the same has gone viral on social media. The impact of Dhoni goes beyond the arena of cricket. After spending some time in the United States, he recently came back to India. He attended the US Open and played golf with former US President Donald Trump during his stay.

This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will be observed from September 19 to September 28. The 10-day Ganesh Utsav festival will conclude on September 28 with Ganpati Visarjan.

Dhoni is a devout Hindu and frequently makes pilgrimages to temples to pray. After India won the World Cup in 2011, one of his most heartwarming acts of dedication was to shave his head in fulfillment of a commitment. This symbolic act's hair was allegedly thereafter donated at the Balaji Temple in Tirupati. This amplifies how deeply Dhoni holds spiritual views.

MS Dhoni’s humble Ganesh Chaturthi celebration

While many famous people and public figures attended lavish gatherings to mark the Ganpati festivities, MS Dhoni opted for a straightforward and modest approach.

The Jharkhand-born cricketer can be seen participating in a procession at what appears to be a hotel in a touching video that has gone viral online. The video also shows him showering Lord Ganesha's idol with petals while grinning broadly, demonstrating his sincere participation, humility, and devotion.

MS Dhoni remains the only captain in cricket history to win all three ICC white-ball tournaments. Under his leadership, India won the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

He has captained Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to five IPL titles including the latest one in 2023.
