Youngsters take him as an example for learning batting techniques. In a recent incident, MS Dhoni in Chennai Super Kings also cited Virat Kohli as an example of batting masterclass. Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians in their previous game. Chennai Super Kings top order is running high on confidence and their openers are among the top 10 leading run-scorers. CSK defeated Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets. Chennai and Mumbai are the two most successful teams in the Indian Premier League.

Dhoni's masterclass citing Virat Kohli

CSK captain MS Dhoni after the game was giving a post-match speech in the dressing room. A video is viral on social media where MS Dhoni while talking about batting gave Virat Kohli’s example. In the video Dhoni was heard giving tips, he said, “Virat doesn’t play the first ball like this. It is always here”. Virat Kohli has become a benchmark in batting for the others. In a recent record, Virat Kohli has become the first-ever batter to reach 7000 runs in the league. Virat Kohli is also chasing most of Sachin Tendulkar’s batting records. Virat has smashed 75 centuries in International cricket. He is 34 years old and just 26 short of Sachin’s 100 Hundreds record.

Chennai Super Kings are currently placed 2nd in the IPL 2023 points table. CSK have earned 13 points in their 11 games. They have won 6 of their 11 games. The Lucknow Super Giants clash ended with no result due to rain, they both had to share 1-1 points from the game. Chennai are going strong in the season and are the front-runner along with Gujarat Titans to become the first two teams qualifying for the playoffs. Chennai will play Delhi Capitals at Chepauk on 10th May.
