Watch: Ravindra Jadeja traps and disturbs Cameron Green's stumps

Ravindra Jadeja castled Australia all-rounder Cameron Green for 25 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja is the only spinner playing for India in the World Test Championship Final against Australia at The Oval after team management decided to drop Ravichandran Ashwin. Jadeja has played a key role for India in the second innings with widening rough patches and drying wicket at The Oval. All-rounder Jadeja bowled a magical delivery to dismiss Cameron Green, who looked set for a big innings. Green batted patiently but Jadeja tricked him nicely to pick up his 3rd wicket in the second inning. Green was building a decent partnership with Alex Carey before being castled by Ravindra Jadeja on 25 runs. 

How Jadeja trapped Cameron Green

After Labuschagne’s wicket early in the day, Team India looked in good spirits but yet again a partnership put their shoulders down. Sensing an opportunity around the rough patches, Ravindra Jadeja went targeting the outside leg stump line against right-hander Cameron Green and that plot worked magic for him. Jadeja in the last ball of his 15th over, pitched one outside leg stump on patches which saw a huge turn and went kissing Green’s glove. Green couldn’t put his bat down as he was in a position to offer no shot and the ball dislodged the bails to send Green back in the dressing room.

Cameron Green and Alex Carey added 43 runs in 16 overs for the 6th wicket after India got Marnus Labuschagne (41) early on day 4. Australia have gone past 350 runs lead and put India farther away from the ICC World Test Championship mace once again. Ravindra Jadeja with Ravi Ashwin would have worked better in partnership for team India on a sunny, dry wicket with patches around the crease. Ravindra Jadeja has also overtaken Bishan Singh Bedi’s 266 wickets record and became the leading wicket-taker for India as a left-arm spinner.
