Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal have scored half-centuries in the first innings.

Team India are going strong against West Indies in the first test at Windsor Park in Dominica. After bowling out West Indies on 150, Indian openers have stitched a century partnership with captain Rohit Sharma and debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed half-centuries.

Rohit and Yashasvi dominated against West Indies bowlers. No bowler looked threatening against a new Indian opening combination. Only a few occasions, when Windies bowlers had challenged Rohit and Yashasvi but could not carry the momentum. One ball from Alzarri Joseph surprised Rohit Sharma on day 1 and forced Rohit to utter an abusive word in shock.

In the 9th over of the India innings, Alzarri Joseph tried his best to trouble Rohit Sharma with short-pitched deliveries and also targeted him on testing length. Joseph's one of good length delivery rised an inch above to surprise Indian captain Rohit Sharma. He got a glove on it and the ball went for a four. Rohit Sharma was in a little bit of bother and was in pain. Rohit vented out his anger and disappointment with a hindi abuse 'Bhe*****'. Kemar Roach, Jason Holder, and Alzarri Joseph are taking responsibility of the Windies pace bowling attack.

West Indies were bowled out just 150 runs in the first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin made a roaring comeback in the Indian team and picked up a 5-wicket haul. Ashwin also got support from Ravindra Jadeja at the other end. Captain Rohit was spot on with his field placement and bowling changes in the game. India are playing with a changed batting order in this test as opener Shubman Gill has shifted himself to the number 3 position replacing Cheteshwar Pujara who is out of the Indian squad.
