Delhi Capitals are in the mood to play a party spoiler role in the Punjab Kings' campaign. After a consistent failure in batting, the Capitals have finally had their redemption at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. David Warner and Prithvi Shaw had a blistering start against the Punjab Kings bowling attack. They added 94 runs for the first wicket in 10.4 overs. Both Warner and Shaw looked comfortable knocking the ball around and also with a few big hits in the park. David Warner got out on 46, missing his fifty just by 4 runs. Punjab captain Shikhar Dhawan took a spectacular catch to dismiss Warner.

When Delhi Capitals were looking set for a big total with Warner and Prithvi Shaw in the crease. Sam Curran delivered a wicket along with his captain Shikhar Dhawan’s spectacular catch at long off. Warner tried to smash Curran’s leg cutter down the ground but he failed to middle it. Warner didn’t time his shot due to some extra bounce and the ball went up high in the sky. Dhawan ran from cover to long off and timed his dive perfectly to grab the ball. Dhawan came running from the cover and it was hard to keep the momentum as he kept looking at the ball till the last moment.

David Warner scored 46 runs in 31 balls smashing 5 fours and 2 sixes. Prithvi Shaw completed his first fifty of the IPL 2023. Shaw failed miserably in the IPL 2023 but in this innings, he looked confident.
