Watch: Stuart Broad receives guard of honour from Australian players as he walks out to bat for last time

Stuart Broad hammered a six on the final delivery he faced in his final Test innings.

Stuart Broad, who is playing the final Test match of his career, received a standing ovation from the Oval crowd as he walked out to bat on the fourth day and even received a guard of honor from the Australian team on July 30, 2023.

Following the conclusion of Day 3 of the final Ashes Test, England's top Test bowler Stuart Broad startled the crowd on Saturday by announcing his retirement from international competition. James Anderson joined Broad for the final wicket as England finished the third day in London at 389/9, leaving Broad undefeated on 2.

In the post-day interview, Broad reiterated his intention to give up playing cricket. England finished the third day in London at 389/9, with Broad still undefeated on 2. James Anderson joined him for the final wicket. Broad, who is now 37 and one of the few bowlers in cricket history with more than 600 Test wickets, formed a deadly bowling partnership with Anderson in the game's longest format.

Stuart Broad gets Guard of Honor from the Australian team

In keeping with tradition, the Australian players formed a guard of honor for Broad prior to the start of Day 4, but the veteran English bowler saved a special moment for his longtime bowling partner Anderson as they left the locker room.

Broad gave Anderson a side hug as they entered the field and seemed to carry him through the guard of honor as well. Broad was able to enjoy himself as Anderson remained behind the line of defense.

Against Mitchell Starc, Stuart Broad hit his final six of his international career, which also happened to be England's last runs scored before the team were bowled out for 395. To the pleasure of the spectators at The Oval, the left-handed batter smacked Starc's short-pitched delivery for a spectacular six over mid-wicket.
