India have rested five players including Virat Kohli for the Bangladesh match in Asia Cup 2023.
India cricketer Virat Kohli was rested for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s stage match against Bangladesh and was seen carrying drinks for his teammates on September 15, 2023. This match is inconsequential as Bangladesh have crashed out of the race for finals and India have qualified for the summit clash.
India defeated Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Super 4s stage and will now face Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final on September 17, 2023.
Given that this match was more like a practice for the Indian team, the management decided to five of their first-choice players. Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav were rested ahead of the final, and instead, Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammad Shami came in, while Tilak Varma made his ODI debut for India.
Middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer missed India's third consecutive game with the BCCI saying he "has shown improvement but is not yet fully fit." For Bangladesh, Tanzid Shakib was handed his ODI debut.
Virat Kohli’s funny run on the field amuses fans as he turns Waterboy
Virat Kohli is always a source of entertainment with his various antics on the field and even when he is not in the playing XI, he never leaves an opportunity to come up with a hilarious joke. He turned waterboy for his team.
Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur provided India with a sensational start to the match with early breakthroughs. After the dismissal of Anamul Haque, Kohli rushed into the ground with water for his teammates, and his style of running left fans in splits.
Kohli and Mohammed Siraj were wearing red colored stash over their Indian team uniform as they were designated as substitute fielders.
