Watch: Virat Kohli copies Shubman Gill's style to celebrate 76th century

Virat Kohli scored his 29th test century and 76th overall in international cricket.

Virat Kohli reached his 29th Test century and 76th international century during the ongoing second Test between India and West Indies. The former Indian captain who is playing his 500th international match, reached the milestone in style with a four off Shannon Gabriel.

The Indian batter played an excellent cover drive to get to his milestone and bowed down just like the way Shubman Gill would celebrate his century. Ravindra Jadeja, who was on the other side, then hugged the Indian batter. Virat Kohli, while walking to take the strike, kissed his marriage ring just like he usually does.

The Indian star now has equaled Don Bradman in the number of Test centuries. Amongst the active players, only Steve Smith (32) and Joe Root (30) have more Test centuries than the Indian batter. Overall, Sachin Tendulkar leads the tally with 51 Test centuries. Also, Virat Kohli has become the first batsman to score a century in career's 500th international match. After 500 games, he has 76 centuries, one more than Sachin Tendulkar.

Shubman Gill got out for a low score

Shubman Gill, however, could not make a mark in this series. The youngster's horrid run continues as he managed only 10 runs in the second Test against West Indies. In the last match, he got out for six runs which made several experts question his position in the team. Gill has had a few forgettable outings in recent Test matches. He got made 13 and 18 in the World Test Championships final against Australia.

Earlier, Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma made half-centuries to put India in a commendable position. While Shubman Gill and Ajinkya Rahane could not make an impact, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja created an excellent partnership and helped India to cross the 300-mark.
