India and West Indies have started a new cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 with the beginning of the first of two Test matches in Roseau, Dominica.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan, two talented young Indian players, are making their debut for the Indian team in the opening Test match against West Indies. Jaiswal will be entrusted with the crucial role of opening the innings for India, while Kishan will take charge as the team's wicket-keeper.

During the toss, Rohit Sharma confirmed that Jaiswal and Kishan are all set to make their debut in the Test match. He expressed his desire for the two debutants to enjoy the experience, acknowledging the hard work they put in to reach this stage. Rohit Sharma stated, "I want the two debutants to enjoy. They've worked hard to come here. I want to make them feel comfortable and have some good memories of their first Test."

Jaiswal and Kishan have become 306th and 307th players to represent India in test cricket respectively. Jaiswal received his maiden cap from his opening partner and captain Rohit Sharma, while Virat Kohli presented the cap No. 307 to Kishan.
