Uncertainty looms over India Champions vs Pakistan Champions semi-final clash in World Championship of Legends 2025

India Champions and Pakistan Champions have qualified for the 1st semi-final of the WCL 2025.

India Champions and Pakistan Champions have qualified for the semi-finals of World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. However, there is uncertainty about whether the match will take place or not.

The semi-final 1 between India Champions and Pakistan Champions is scheduled to be played on July 31 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Notably, the clash between both the sides during the group stage of the tournament was called off.

Some Indian players in Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, and Shikhar Dhawan denied playing against Pakistan Champions in the wake of the Pahalgham terror attack. Hence, the match was called off by the organisers.

Notably, India Champions defeated West Indies Champions in their last match of the group stage to reach the semi-finals. They needed to chase down a 145-run target within 14 overs to outplay England Champions on Net Run Rate (NRR) and reach the semis.

Stuart Binny slammed 50 runs off 21 balls while Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan added quickfire 21 runs each to power India to victory in 13.2 overs by five wickets. They finished in the fourth spot in the points table to reach the semi-finals.

Pakistan Champions won four games out of five matches to finish in the top spot in the points table with nine points. They have been undefeated in the tournament. Their one match against India Champions ended with no result after being called off.

As per the format, the top team has to clash with the fourth-ranked team. Hence, India Champions and Pakistan Champions are scheduled to face each other in the semi-final 1. However, if India Champions pulls out of the game, Pakistan Champions will seal a berth in the final.

Meanwhile, Dhawan has already cleared his stance that he won’t play against Pakistan in the tournament. However, other players are yet to reveal their decision. The organisers have decided to go ahead with the match if both teams do not pull out of the encounter.

Recently, the Asia Cup 2025 schedule was announced, and India and Pakistan are set to clash on September 14. Meanwhile, Australia Champions and South Africa Champions will clash in the 2nd semi-final of the WCL 2025.
