Australia won the toss and chose to bat first in the second semi-final of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 against India.

India and Australia are clashing in the second semi-final of the ongoing ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. This match is being played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on October 30, 2025.

The victor will face South Africa, who thrashed England in a one-sided first semifinal on Wednesday, with the final set for Sunday (November 2).

The build-up to the high-stakes battle between India and Australia has been dominated by severe injury bulletins. The huge setback for India came when it was confirmed that opener Pratika Rawal would miss the rest of the competition after suffering an ankle injury while fielding against Bangladesh.

Shafali Verma has been pulled in as a substitute, a stunning return for the aggressive right-hander who had not played an ODI in over a year and was not even among the original standby players.

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 semifinal match between India and Australia in Navi Mumbai on Thursday faces a significant weather threat.

According to AccuWeather, there is a good likelihood of rain during the encounter, and a yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued for Thursday morning across Mumbai, with thunderstorms likely.

The tournament has already witnessed a handful of washouts, and cricket fans will be concerned that the weather may ruin the fun once more. If play is not possible on Thursday, there is a reserve day scheduled for Friday.

However, if the reserve day is similarly rained out, Australia will advance to the final. Australia overcame India in the group stage and ended ahead of the hosts in the points standings.

Meanwhile, Australia captain Alyssa Healy, who returned for this match, won the toss and chose to bat first, keeping the rain in mind. Australia made one change as Sophie Molineux replaced Georgia Wareham in the playing XI.

Apart from Shafali Verma replacing Pratika Rawal, India made two more changes to the playing XI. Harleen Deol and Uma Chetry made way for Kranti Gaud and Richa Ghosh coming in.
