Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clashed with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday, May 10. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to field first in the encounter, which took place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

LSG opener Josh Inglis played a brutal hand with bat, smacking 85 runs off 33 deliveries. The other top and middle-order batters failed to come up with a good show. Shahbaz Ahmed added an unbeaten 43 runs towards the end to take the scoreboard to 203/8.

In the chase, CSK lost Sanju Samson in the fourth over. However, Urvil Patel, who came out to bat at number three, hammered LSG bowlers all over the park. He slammed sixes from the start and reached his half-century off just 13 deliveries. With the knock, he equalled the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history with Yashasvi Jaiswal.

While celebrating his fifty, Patel took out a note from his pocket, which made many wonder as to what was written in his note.

What was written in Urvil Patel’s note during CSK vs LSG clash of IPL 2026?

The wicket-keeper batter dedicated his fifty to his father. His note read, “This is for you, Papa.”

Meanwhile, Urvil got out for 65 runs off 23 deliveries with two fours and eight sixes. With his blistering knock, CSK broke the back of the chase, crossing 125 runs in just 10 overs and eventually win the game by 5 wickets.

This was his fourth game in IPL 2026. He got out cheaply in the last three matches, getting out for 4, 24, and 17.

Meanwhile, CSK are now placed in the fifth spot in the points table with 12 points, winning six games and losing five. The race for the playoffs has become intense and CSK have a good chance to make it to the playoffs if they win their remaining games.

On the other hand, the Rishabh Pant & Co. are placed in the last spot in the points table. After the defeat to CSK, they are officially out of IPL 2026.
