The Australian Cricket Team are the most successful team in cricket.
The Australian Cricket Team are considered a heavyweight in world cricket. The brand of cricket that they have played over the years depicts why they are the most successful team in the sport, winning the most number of International Cricket Council (ICC) titles.
Australian Cricket Team have made it into another final this year as well and they are currently playing the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 final against the South Africa Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
The first innings of the ICC WTC 2023-25 final was all about the Australian Cricket Team, as, despite being down, they staged a fabulous comeback. After being asked to bat, the Pat Cummins-led side got all out for just 212 and then came up with the magical effort with the ball.
On account of Pat Cummins’ six-wicket haul, Australia bundled out South Africa for just 138 runs, taking a lead of 74 runs. With the kind of show that they displayed, it was almost certain that they would lift yet another ICC title.
But South Africa staged a comeback for ages. They were top-notch with the ball as they ended Australia’s innings for just 207 runs, setting themselves a target of 282 runs. The Temba Bavuma-led side then looked extremely comfortable in the chase.
Aiden Markram (102) hit an unbeaten ton, while skipper Bavuma (65*) also hit a half-century as South Africa ended day three at 213 for two, needing just 69 runs more to win. With the way things are panning out, the Proteas seem the hot favourites to win the game.
