India and UAE will lock horns in their opening game of Asia Cup 2025.

The Indian Cricket Team and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will begin their campaign in Asia Cup 2025 with a clash against each other. This will be match 2 of the tournament, scheduled to be played on September 10 (Wednesday) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

Led by Suryakumar Yadav, the Men in Blue are expected to begin the tournament with a victory. With an explosive batting unit and deadly bowling depth, India are highly likely to dominate the UAE in the clash.

Notably, India and the UAE have only clashed with each other in four matches in international cricket. Out of these four matches, three were ODIs and one was a T20I. Winning all these games, India have been unbeaten against UAE in head-to-head clashes.

India last faced UAE in a T20I match in March 2016

India and the UAE last clashed with each other in a T20I match during Asia Cup 2016. Moreover, it is the only T20I clash between the teams till date. In the encounter, India clinched a huge victory by nine wickets.

In Asia Cup 2016, which was played in T20I format for the first time, India and the UAE clashed in the ninth match on March 3, 2016. The encounter took place at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

The then UAE skipper Amjad Javed won the toss and elected to bat first in the clash. With a top knock of 43 runs by Shaiman Anwar, they piled up 81/9 in the first innings. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked two wickets for India while five other bowlers got one scalp each.

Later, Rohit Sharma (39), Shikhar Dhawan (16*), and Yuvraj Singh (25*) batted brilliantly to seal a huge victory for India by nine wickets, chasing down the 82-run target in just 10.1 overs. Rohit was adjudged Player of the Match. India, led by MS Dhoni, later also won the title by defeating Bangladesh in the final by eight wickets.
