Shubman Gill is all set to lead India in the England test series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) nominated Shubman Gill as the new test captain of the Indian Cricket Team last month. The young batter will lead the side in the crucial tour against England in his first campaign. Gill is the successor of Rohit Sharma, who announced his retirement from the longest format of the game last month.

Gill will be joined by Rishabh Pant, who has been picked as the new vice-captain of the test team. India will face England in the five-test series in their first assignment of the new ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

The Indian Cricket Team are reportedly all set to depart for England for the upcoming series on 5th June (Thursday). Ahead of the teamโ€™s departure, new test captain Shubman Gill will address a press conference. He will be joined by head coach Gautam Gambhir during the media interaction.

When and where to watch Shubman Gillโ€™s press conference

The press conference will take place on Thursday, June 5. It will commence at 7 PM IST. The live telecast of Gillโ€™s press conference will be presented by Star Sports Network. Star Sports 3 and Star Sports 2 Hindi channels will present the live telecast. The live streaming will be available on Jio Hotstar app and website.

Meanwhile, the England vs India test series will commence with the opening game on June 20 at Headingley in Leeds. The tour will conclude with the fifth test at Kia Oval in London, which will be played from July 31 to August 4.

The Indian Cricket Team will miss the services of three legends in the England series โ€“ Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravichandran Ashwin. All of them were part of Indiaโ€™s squad in their last test series against Australia Down Under. While Sharma and Kohli announced their test retirement in May, Ashwin pulled down the curtains on his international career in December 2024.
