The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) nominated Shubman Gill as the new test captain of the Indian Cricket Team last month. The young batter will lead the side in the crucial tour against England in his first campaign. Gill is the successor of Rohit Sharma, who announced his retirement from the longest format of the game last month.
Gill will be joined by Rishabh Pant, who has been picked as the new vice-captain of the test team. India will face England in the five-test series in their first assignment of the new ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
The Indian Cricket Team are reportedly all set to depart for England for the upcoming series on 5th June (Thursday). Ahead of the teamโs departure, new test captain Shubman Gill will address a press conference. He will be joined by head coach Gautam Gambhir during the media interaction.
