Cricket’s oldest rivalry is set to resume in England. Australia after winning their maiden World Test Championship Final against India at The Oval, will start their campaign to retain the Ashes trophy. Ashes is Cricket’s oldest title at stake between two teams, Australia and England.
The Ashes 2023 will begin at The Edgbaston in Birmingham on 16th June, and both teams will take on each other to get their hands on Cricket’s smallest trophy but biggest in terms of prestige, ‘The Urn’. Australia are the current holder of The Urn with a dominating victory they registered against England down under two years ago in 2021-22.
Where to watch The Ashes 2023 in India?
Not only in these two countries, but also around the world fans wait for The Ashes to begin every two years as two of the Cricket’s oldest members begin their journey to get the glory. Indian fans are also eagerly waiting for the Ashes.
The Ashes 2023 will be telecasted live in India on Sony Sports Network channels and also in Sony LIV app. The first of the five test matches will commence on 16th June from 3:30 IST. As there is no international cricket schedule for Team India, fans will be looking for a five-test series between the two giants. The Final Ashes test will be played on 27th July at The Oval.
After the Ashes opener in Birmingham, teams will travel to London, where The Lord’s will host the 2nd Ashes test from 28th June. Leeds Headingley will be hosting the 3rd Ashes test from 6th July. Manchester’s Old Trafford will host the 4th Ashes Test from 19th July.
Both the teams will come back to London to play the final test of the Ashes 2023 at The Oval on 27th July. Since 1882, In the last 140 years, a Total of 73 Ashes series have been played and Australia are the most successful team winning 34 times, while England have won 32 Ashes series.
