The next editions came as a disappointment for India as they were knocked out in the semifinals in 2015 and 2019.
Meanwhile, BCCI have picked 12 venues for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with 10 of them hosting the main event. Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Dharamsala, and Kolkata will host the main event, and Guwahati and Trivandrum will be hosting the warm-up games along with Hyderabad.

Fans are eagerly waiting to book their place in the stadium to witness the battle for the most coveted trophy in Cricket World. Very soon ICC and BCCI will be coming out with details of how the fans can book tickets and witness the battle between the 10 best teams around the world.
10 Teams have qualified for the main event, for the first time in history West Indies will not be taking part in the World Cup. The two-time champions were knocked out of the race in the World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe. West Indies lost to Scotland, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands.
First time India to host World Cup alone
Afghanistan and Bangladesh had directly qualified for the event along with top-ranked teams Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, England, and hosts India. This is for the first time India will be hosting this big event alone.
Previously they had Pakistan as the co-hosts in 1987 and 96, Sri Lanka in 1996, and 2011, and Bangladesh in 2011 as co-hosts.
