RCB have qualified for Qualifier 1 of IPL 2026.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clashed with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League 2026 on May 22. This was the last game for both sides in the league stage.
After opting to bat first, SRH batters wreaked havoc on RCB bowlers from the start. Abhishek Sharma (56), Ishan Kishan (79), and Heinrich Klaasen (51) hammered fifties to propel the team to a mammoth total of 255/4.
The top position in the points table were at stake in the SRH vs RCB clash. The result of the clash would have decided which team will lock horns in Qualifier 1. RCB ended the league stage at top spot in the points table with 18 points, followed by Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the next two positions.
RCB set to clash with GT in Qualifier 1

RCB will clash with GT in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2026. Notably, SRH had to restrict RCB below 165 runs to jump to the top two positions in the points table. However, RCB managed to cross the mark in the second innings. Hence, they will finish at the peak of the points table even after a defeat.
Moreover, SRH will have to settle in the third place, while GT will finish in the second position. Hence, RCB and GT will lock horns in Qualifier 1 on May 26 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
Meanwhile, the Qualifier 1 teams have been finalised, but the fourth team in the playoffs is yet to be decided. Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capitals are the contenders to finish in the fourth spot in the points table. The fourth team in the playoffs will clash with SRH in the Eliminator.
