Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are clashing with Gujarat Titans (GT) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The encounter is taking place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, April 24.

Both teams arrive to this game with a defeat in the previous clash. Bengaluru lost to DC by six wickets in the previous game, failing to defend their 175-run total. Gujarat Titans lost to Mumbai Indians by 99 runs, failing to chase a 200-run target. They were bowled out for just 100 runs, suffering a huge defeat in the clash.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to field first in the RCB vs GT clash of the IPL 2026. While the home side made one change, replacing injured Phil Salt with Jacob Bethell, GT made two changes. They left out Glenn Phillips and Ashok Sharma.

The absence of Phillips raised eyebrows among many. However, his snub came amid his poor returns with the bat in IPL 2026. Jason Holder, who is making his debut for the GT, replaced him in the XI.

“If you get off to a good start, then just keep mounting on that. Games like that in such a big tournament can happen (on the match against MI). But I think it’s very important to keep reminding ourselves of the things that, as a team, bring us the best success and the best result. And those are the things that we’outside the leg-stump be focusing on. we have got a couple of changes. Jason Holder comes in, he’s making his debut for us. And Manav Suthar comes back,” he said.

“Not really. I mean, generally on this ground, teams that have been chasing have had good success. But I think this looks like an even wicket. So hopefully it will be a good game for us. Honestly, not really. It’s all about assessing the conditions early. And if you get off to a good powerplay, then you can build on that. So I think that’s the challenge for us,” he added.

Notably, Phillips has scored just 67 runs in six games. It remains to be seen how his replacement Jason Holder plays in the game.
