Mumbai Indians (MI) are clashing with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 69th match of the Indian Premier League 2026. The encounter is taking place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
MI have been eliminated from the tournament. They had a horrible season, winning just four games out of 13, and would be aiming to conclude the tournament on a winning note.
On the other hand, RR have the chance to make it to the playoffs. A victory will help them to finish in the fourth spot in the points table.
MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first. At the toss, he informed that star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is not part of their playing XI, which came as a surprise as he featured in the previous game.
Why did Jasprit Bumrah miss MI vs RR clash of IPL 2026?

Pandya revealed that Bumrah has been rested in the clash. Shardul Thakur has replaced him in the playing XI.
“We will bowl first. It looks like a good track and it tends to get better in the evening. It’s a very special day, overall, the Reliance Foundation has helped and impacted 29 lakh people. It’s a privilege to be part of this. It’s been a tough season for us, but we want to finish on a high. Jassi (Jasprit Bumrah) is resting and Deepak Chahar is in,” Pandya said.
Notably, Hardik mistakenly mentioned that Chahar has replaced Bumrah in the playing XI. Thakur is the replacement for the right-arm pacer.
Meanwhile, Bumrah failed to deliver an impressive performance in IPL 2026. In 13 games, he picked just four wickets at an economy of 8.36.
Notably, RR will be eliminated from the league if they lose to MI. They are currently placed in the fifth spot in the points table with 14 points. A victory will help them to earn 16 points and replace Punjab Kings at the fourth position.
