CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and opted to field first. They did not make any changes to their playing XI.
On the other hand, LSG captain Rishabh Pant informed that they made two changes to their playing XI. Josh Inglis and Avesh Khan were added to the side. Notably, Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan are not part of the clash.
Why are Mohsin and Mayank not part of LSG’s playing XI vs CSK?
Mohsin has once again been overlooked for the encounter. He has featured in five games and clinched 10 wickets at an economy of 7.45, including a five-wicket haul. Mayank has been named as one of the impact players, but will not play in the second innings.
LSG have preferred pacers like Prince Yadav and Mohammed Shami in the playing XI vs CSK. They will play Avesh Khan as an impact player in the second innings. Mayank has played two games for LSG in IPL 2026 so far. He emerged expensive in both those games.
Speaking at the toss, Rishabh Pant said, “And that’s the learning for us – as we move forward in the tournament, that’s the only thing, like I said in Mumbai that we’re going to give our 200% regardless of every match. And we’re trying to do that. We have two changes in the team. Josh Inglis comes in because he was injured in the last game, and Avesh comes in for Mayank”.
