Pat Cummins has not played any games for SRH in IPL 2026 so far.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are clashing with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League 2026. The SRH vs RR match is taking place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday, April 13.
While RR have won four games in a row, SRH have won just one out of four games so far. Hence, they are desperate for a victory against RR, where they are expected to face a big challenge.
RR take the top spot in the IPL 2026 points table with eight points. On the other hand, SRH are placed in seventh place with two points.
In match 21 of IPL 2026, RR won the toss and opted to field first. Pat Cummins is absent from SRH’s playing XI in the encounter. He has not played any match yet in the current edition.
Why is Pat Cummins not part of SRH’s playing XI vs RR?

Cummins is suffering from a lumbar stress injury. He suffered the injury during Australia’s tour of West Indies in July last year. He last played in a test match in The Ashes 2025-26.
He was ruled out of the campaign after playing just one game as his injury resurfaced. He also missed the T20 World Cup 2026.
Cummins joined the SRH squad ahead of IPL 2026 but was set to miss the initial games. Hence, Ishan Kishan has been captaining the team in his absence.
The right-arm pacer is in the final stages of his rehabilitation and gearing up to make his comeback in IPL 2026. He is currently in Australia for a final assessment of his back injury. The test will be conducted by Cricket Australia (CA).
If Cummins successfully passes the test, he will receive a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from CA to play in the ongoing IPL edition. He is expected to join the SRH squad after April 17. Therefore, Cummins is expected to play in the latter half of the tournament.
