Rajasthan Royals have won seven matches in IPL 2026 so far.
The competition for the fourth spot in the Indian Premier League 2026 playoffs is intense. Five teams are fighting for that spot. However, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) are currently the favourites to bag a berth in the top 4.
Riyan Parag & Co. grab the fourth spot in the points table with 14 points. They have one more match left in the league stage against the Mumbai Indians. If they win that game, they will snatch a spot in the playoffs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, and Sunrisers Hyderabad were the first three teams to book a berth in the playoffs. They are now battling for the top two positions.
Why are RR favourites to bag the fourth spot in the playoffs?

While the other four teams are dependent on other teams’ results to qualify for the playoffs, the Rajasthan Royals need to focus on their own match. They need to win their last match of the league stage to confirm their berth in the top four.
RR also have a better Net Run Rate (NRR) than other teams, which gives them an edge if their points clash with any other team.
Moreover, RR’s previous victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) must have given them a lot of confidence. They chased down a 221-run target with seven wickets in hand.
RR also have a lethal batting unit. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and Dhruv Jurel form a deadly top-order for the side. They have shown consistent form and helped the team chase targets with ease.
Another advantage for them is the Mumbai Indians’ poor form. The Hardik Pandya & Co. have looked vulnerable with most of their key players struggling with their form. Hence, the Royals won’t find it too challenging to outplay them in their upcoming clash.
How can Rajasthan Royals qualify for IPL 2026 playoffs?
RR can qualify for IPL 2026 playoffs by defeating the Mumbai Indians in their last league match.
Which teams have qualified for the IPL 2026 playoffs so far?
