Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are locking horns in the 45th match of the Indian Premier League 2026. The encounter is taking place on May 3 (Sunday) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Sunrisers have delivered an impeccable performance in their recent games. They have won five games in a row and account for six victories out of nine matches. With 12 points, they grab the third spot in the points table.
After a big loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the tournament opener, SRH have made a marvellous comeback. On the other hand, KKR have been among the worst performers this season, winning just two games and losing five out of eight so far, including one no result.
SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first in the clash. Notably, Ramandeep Singh is not part of KKR’s playing XI in the encounter. This is quite surprising as he was part of all eight previous games of the tournament.
Why is Ramandeep Singh not part of the SRH vs KKR match?

Notably, Ramandeep Singh has been replaced by Manish Pandey in the playing XI. He has likely been dropped from the playing XI due to poor performance.
KKR also replaced Tim Seifert with Finn Allen in the match. These were the two changes that KKR made in the encounter.
“I thought hose breaks, so far, definitely helped. We’ve got two changes. Finn Allen is back in place of Seifert and then Manish Pandey is playing his first game of this season in place of Ramandeep Singh,” KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said at the toss.
Ramandeep has played for KKR since the first game against Mumbai Indians (MI). However, he could not make a mark with his performance in any games. Against CSK, he registered his highest score of 35 runs and failed to score a fifty across six innings. He also bowled in two matches, picking one wicket.
In the previous three games, the right-handed batsman got out for 6, 10, and 17. His recent struggles with the bat might be the reason for his absence from SRH’s clash. The middle-order batter has scored 82 runs in six innings at a poor average of 16.40 and a strike rate of 120.58.
