The Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2026 is underway on May 29 between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Gujarat Titans (GT). RR captain Riyan Parag won the toss and opted to bat first in the match.
However, the decision didn’t go in his favour as RR suffered two early blows. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj in the first over itself. Dhruv Jurel also failed to go big, losing his wicket for just 7 runs in the 2nd over.
It was expected that Riyan Parag, who bats at number four will walk out early; however, he did not come out to bat after Jurel’s wicket. Instead, Ravindra Jadeja came out to bat at number four in the encounter.

Since RR lost two quick wickets at the start, Jadeja was sent early to stabilise the situation. Hence, Parag did not take the number four position in the match. After the early blows, Sooryavanshi and Jadeja managed to get crucial runs on the board. They took the scoreboard to 70-2 in the powerplay.
Although Parag has not managed to come up with a brilliant show this season, he has played a few quickfire knocks in the middle order. The RR captain has scored 309 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of 157, with two half-centuries.
Meanwhile, the winner of Qualifier 2 will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the final on May 31.
Gujarat lost Qualifier 1 against RCB by 92 runs. They have another chance to reach the final by winning tonight’s clash. On the other hand, Rajasthan defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 47 runs in the Eliminator.
