Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) locked horns in the Indian Premier League 2026 on Sunday, May 24, at Eden Gardens Stadium. It was a dead-rubber game as both teams have been eliminated from the tournament.
Notably, KKR spinner Sunil Narine was substituted in the second innings with Finn Allen coming as an impact player. Narine clinched one wicket in his four-over spell, but with him also being handy with the bat, it came as a massive surprise.
It costed KKR a few runs as well as they were chasing a big total of over 200 runs. Although they had a great start to their innings, but lost the plot in the middle. Had Narine been there, he would have supported batters and KKR might have come close or even chased the target.

Ajinkya Rahane (63) gave a good start to KKR’s batting with his half-century. However, other batters failed to come up with an equally good show. Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav clinched three wickets each for DC, while Mitchell Starc bagged two wickets.
With the victory, DC eventually finished in the sixth spot in the points table with 14 points. KKR moved to the seventh spot with 13 points in the final standings.
