Virat Kohli slammed his second half-century of IPL 2026 in MI vs RCB clash at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The encounter between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is underway on April 12 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After being asked to bat first, RCB piled up a gigantic total of 240/4 in the first innings.
Openers Phil Salt (78) and Virat Kohli (50) etched an opening stand of 120 runs. Later, Rajat Patidar (53) accelerated the scoreboard in the middle overs with his quick-fire fifty.
Kohli came up with a decent half-century. After the first innings, he did not come on the field and was seen sitting in the dugout. He changed his kit and fans were surprised to see him in the dugout rather than on the field.
Why is Virat Kohli not on the field in 2nd innings of MI vs RCB clash?

The reason was not confirmed at the start but commentator Simon Doull mentioned that Kohli suffered an ankle injury while batting. Later, it was revealed that Kohli had sustained an ankle injury in the first innings. Hence, he remained out of the field in the second innings.
Speaking about RCB’s batting, MI bowlers were completely helpless against them. Phil Salt, Kohli, and Rajat Patidar slammed half-centuries. Tim David scored a quickfire 16-ball 34 in the death overs to take the scoreboard to 240/4. RCB attacked MI bowlers right from the start and it went till the final over.
Meanwhile, it was Kohli’s second half-century in IPL 2026. He also hit a fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the opening game. Out of three games, RCB have won two games and lost one. They lost their previous clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
The Hardik Pandya & Co. have lost their previous two games. They won their opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and have won one match out of three so far.
