From Kraigg Brathwaite to Jason Holder, let's take a look at how WI stars fared in the test series.

Considering West Indies' performance in this series, it was evident from the start that they were the underdogs, and they lived up to that reputation, especially with their batting display. Scoring only 150 in the first innings and 130 in the second innings, they were thoroughly outplayed by India in the first Test, losing by an innings and 141 runs.

In the second Test, they showed improvement in certain phases of the match, but they were always lagging behind. A notable achievement for them was managing to play over 100 overs in the innings. Their bowling was decent, but their batting let them down throughout the series. Fortunately, rain on day 5 of the second Test resulted in a drawn match, sparing them from another defeat. With that said, let's now review the player ratings for the West Indies based on their performances in the series.

Here are the player ratings for the West Indies side based on their performances in the series:

Kraigg Brathwaite - 6.5/10:

The West Indies skipper had a challenging time with the bat in the first Test, managing to score only 20 runs in the first innings and 7 runs in the second innings. However, he showed some improvement in the first innings of the second Test, performing well and scoring 75 runs. In the second innings of the second Test, he scored 28 runs.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul - 4/10:

Tagenarine Chanderpaul had a tough time in the first Test, scoring only 12 runs in the first innings and 7 runs in the second innings. However, he showed some improvement in the second Test's first innings, scoring 33 runs, and followed it up with 24 runs in the second innings. One area he should work on is his strike rate, as he tends to play too many dot balls during his innings. Improving his strike rate would help him become more impactful in the team's batting performance.

Kirk McKenzie - 3.5/10:

In the second Test, the young man Kirk McKenzie made his debut and showed promise with a solid performance, scoring 32 runs in the first innings. However, he faced disappointment in the second innings as he was dismissed for a duck (0).

Jermaine Blackwood - 3/10:

Blackwood had a disappointing time with the bat in both Tests. In the first Test, he scored only 14 and 5 runs in the two innings. Similarly, in the second Test, he couldn't manage to score big, contributing only 20 runs in both innings, remaining unbeaten in the second innings.

Alick Athanaze - 6.5/10:

Alick Athanaze made an impressive debut in the first Test, displaying solid performance throughout. He stood out as the best player in the match for the West Indies, scoring 47 runs in the first innings and 28 runs in the second innings. Additionally, he showcased his bowling skills, taking 1 wicket in the first innings. In the second Test, he continued to show his solidity with the bat, scoring 37 runs. However, he didn't get an opportunity to bat in the second innings. Overall, Athanaze's debut performances was impressive, and he showed promising talent in both batting and bowling.

Joshua Da Silva - 2.5/10:

Joshua Da Silva, the West Indies keeper, had a challenging time with the bat as he struggled to score significant runs whenever he got the opportunity. Unfortunately, he often found himself out for a low score. On the other hand, his performance behind the stumps was decent, and he displayed average keeping throughout the series.

Jason Holder - 3/10:

Currently, Jason Holder is going through a rough patch, experiencing difficulties both with the bat and the ball. Like many other batters, he has been unable to score runs consistently in the series. In the bowling department as well, his performance has been lackluster, managing to take only 2 wickets throughout the series. It's a challenging phase for him, and he will be looking to bounce back and regain his form in the upcoming matches.

Alzarri Joseph - 2.5/10:

Alzarri Joseph's performance with the ball was indeed disappointing, as he could only manage to take 1 wicket throughout the series. One aspect he needs to work on is his economy rate, which has been quite high in Test matches.

Shannon Gabriel - 3.5/10:

Shannon Gabriel was not part of the first Test, but he made an appearance in the second Test. Unfortunately, his performance in the second Test was not up to the mark, as he only managed to take 1 wicket in each of the innings.

Kemar Roach - 4/10:

Kemar Roach was entrusted with leading the team in the fast bowling department, but unfortunately, he didn't perform as expected in the first Test. He could only manage to take 1 wicket in the match. However, he showed improvement in the first innings of the 2nd test, where he displayed better form and took 3 wickets.

Jomel Warrican - 4/10:

Jomel Warrican, the spinner, showed promise with the ball in both Tests. Although he could only manage to take 1 wicket in the first Test, he made a good impact in the second Test's first innings, taking an impressive 3 wickets. Furthermore, he picked up 1 wicket in the second innings of the second Test as well.

Rahkeem Cornwall - 2.5/10:

Rahkeem Cornwall featured in the first Test, but his performance was limited due to a chest infection, and he managed to take only 1 wicket in that match. As a result of his health issues, he was subsequently dropped from the second Test.

Raymon Reifer -2.5/10:

Raymon Reifer had an opportunity to play in the first Test, but unfortunately, he displayed a poor performance with the bat, scoring only 2 and 11 runs in the two innings. Due to his underwhelming performance, he was dropped from the squad for the second Test,
