Mohsin Naqvi has been invited to Ahmedabad to attend ICC meeting.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to conduct its upcoming quarterly meetings in India. The ICC Board meeting will take place in Ahmedabad on May 30-31, when the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 final will also take place.
The meetings were originally scheduled to take place in March-April in Doha, Qatar, but were rescheduled and relocated to India due to the West Asia conflict. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi would be expected to attend the meeting and represent Pakistan.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sent an invitation to Naqvi to attend the meeting in Ahmedabad, as per a report by Geo News. However, his travel to India is highly uncertain due to the severe ties between both countries and their cricket boards.
Moreover, Naqvi was also caught in a controversy during Asia Cup 2025 final. The winning Indian team refused to collect the trophy from Naqvi, who is also a minister in Pakistan Government. Naqvi took the silverware and medals from the stadium.
The trophy remained locked away in Dubai under his instructions. The BCCI has demanded its return since last year and also threatened to take the matter to the ICC for a resolution.
Will Mohsin Naqvi attend the ICC meeting in Ahmedabad?

According to a report by Geo News, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will decide whether Naqvi will travel to India for the meeting or not. The PCB will have a discussion with the Pakistan PM over the matter and make a decision.
It is currently unknown whether Naqvi will seek the government clearance to travel to India or choose the alternative of attending the meeting virtually from Pakistan.
