Pat Cummins has not played any games for SRH so far.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to clash with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match 17 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The PBKS vs SRH encounter will take place on April 11 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
The IPL 2016 champions have played three games so far in the tournament, winning one and losing two. With two points, they take the sixth spot in the points table.
On the other hand, PBKS won two games in a row against Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to start the tournament on a high. Their previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) got washed out due to rain.
Notably, SRH have missed the services of their captain Pat Cummins in IPL 2026 so far. Due to a back injury, he was ruled out of the initial games of the tournament and Ishan Kishan was named as the captain.
Cummins is suffering from a lumbar stress injury of the back. He suffered the injury during Australia’s tour to West Indies tour in July last year. He last played in a test match in The Ashes 2025-26, where he featured in one game, but was ruled out of the campaign as his injury resurfaced. He also missed T20 World Cup 2026.

Notably, Cummins is in the final stages of his rehabilitation and gearing up to make his comeback in IPL 2026. However, he will be absent from SRH’s clash against PBKS. Currently, he is in Australia for a final assessment of his back injury. The test will be conducted by Cricket Australia (CA).
If he successfully passes the test, he will get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in IPL 2026. He is expected to join the SRH squad after April 17. Hence, he is looking forward to playing in the second half of the tournament.
