With playoff qualifications on the line for both teams, it will be one of the most important games in league. After RCB‘s consecutive wins in Raipur against both Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the reigning champions are well placed to not only make the playoffs again, but also secure a top-two finish.
However, the team which will be under heavy pressure is the home team. Punjab Kings have now lost their previous five matches consecutively, and are in a spot of bother.

Currently, Phil Salt is unlikely to play tonight’s IPL 2026 match between RCB and PBKS. The England batter is still recovering from a finger injury, which occurred when Salt attempted a diving stop near the boundary.
Following the injury, Salt had returned to England for scans and further assessment, forcing him to miss the previous six matches. While multiple reports claim that Salt has rejoined the RCB squad after recovering from the injury, there has been no official update provided by the RCB management about his fitness or health.
A recent report also claimed that Salt is still in England and will miss league stage. However, RCB are hopeful about him returning to India for playoffs.
In Salt’s absence, Jacob Bethell has struggled to utilise the opportunity which has come his way. While the English left-hander had shown immense potential against India in the T20 World Cup semi-final, he is yet to produce a breakthrough innings in the IPL.
Before the injury, Salt had played a vital role for RCB at the top of the order, scoring 202 runs at a strike rate of 168 in six matches, including two half-centuries.
