Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to clash with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League 2026 on May 19 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. While LSG are eliminated from the tournament, RR can still make it to the playoffs.
Riyan Parag & Co. are placed fifth in the points table with 12 points. They have won six games and lost six. If RR win their next two matches, they will confirm their place in the playoffs with 16 points. Hence, tonight’s clash is a crucial one for them.
The Royals have had a poor run recently, losing three matches in a row. They lost their previous clash against the Delhi Capitals by five wickets. Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was not part of RR’s playing XI in that match.
While Parag informed at the toss that Jadeja missed the game due to workload management, batting coach Vikram Rathour later revealed that Jadeja sustained a minor knee niggle and was rested as a precaution.
“He just had some niggle in his knee, I think. They are just trying to manage that. They felt that if we give him one more game break, it would be good for him. That was the reason he was rested. He is just dealing with some niggle,” Rathour said in the post-match press conference.
