SRH has set a target of 256 for RCB.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are clashing with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League 2026 tonight at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. After opting to bat first, SRH have set up a mammoth target of 256 runs for RCB.
Openers Abhishek Sharma (56) and Travis Head (26) came up with a quick start to SRH’s, adding 45 runs in just four overs. Ishan Kishan (79) built a 52-run stand with Abhishek and a 113-run stand with Heinrich Klaasen (51) to drive the scoreboard to a big total.
RCB bowlers completely failed to dominate SRH batters. With a brilliant cameo by Nitish Kumar Reddy (29 off 12) in the end, SRH ended with 255/4 on the board.
Notably, RCB grab the top spot in the points table with 18 points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +1.065. SRH are placed in the third spot with 16 points and an NRR of +0.350. Hence, SRH have a chance to jump to the top two spots in the points table by defeating RCB. But, for that, they need to win by a good margin.
How much victory margin do SRH need to move to the top two spots?

Notably, SRH need to defeat RCB by a margin of 91 or more runs to bag the top two positions in the points table. Hence, they need to restrict RCB at 165 or less runs in the second innings. However, it is going to be a challenging task for the hosts as RCB comprise a lethal batting unit.
Meanwhile, RCB, GT, and SRH have booked a berth in the playoffs. However, their positions in the points table are yet to be finalised. GT are placed in the second spot with an equal 18 points but have no more games left in the league stage. The top two teams in the points table will directly play in Qualifier 1 and get two opportunities to reach the final.
