WPL 2024: Full list of all winners, prize money and all you need to know
RCB defeated DC in the WPL 2024 final by 8 wickets in Delhi.
On March 17, 2024, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 final game was held at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. In the title game, Smriti Mandhana’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) took on Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals (DC).
DC chose to bat first and managed to score 113 runs in 18.3 overs owing to first wicket partnership of 64 runs between Shafali Verma (44 runs) and Meg Lanning (23 runs). While Radha Yadav was run out, the RCB team’s spinners Asha Sobhana (2/14), Shreyanka Patil (4/12) and Sophie Molineux (3/20) claimed nine wickets.
In response, RCB won the game in last over thanks to Smriti Mandhana (31), Sophie Devine (32) and Ellyse Perry (35*). RCB finished on 115/2 in 19.3 overs with 8 wickets remaining to win the match. DC suffered their second straight WPL final loss, while RCB emerged victorious in the WPL 2024.
Meanwhile, RCB pocketed INR 6 crores for winning the WPL 2024, while Delhi Capitals received INR 3 crores for being the runners-up.
