WPL 2024: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 5, RCB-W vs GG-W

RCB-W defeated GG-W by eight wickets in the fifth match of WPL 2024.
Riding back on bowlers Sophie Molineux, Renuka Thakur and Georgia Wareham’s performance, Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCB-W) defeated Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W) in the fifth match of Women’s Premier League (WPL 2024).
After winning the toss and opting to field first, RCB-W restricted GG-W for a mere total of 107/7 in 20 overs with Sophie Molineux claiming three wickets, Renuka Thakur claiming two and Georgia Wareham taking one. While for GG-W, Dayalan Hemlatha top-scored with 31. Apart from Hemlatha, only opener Harleen Deol (22) and Sneh Rana (12) managed to cross the double digits.
Chasing a target of 108, RCB-W finished the chase in just 12.3 overs with captain Smriti Mandhana top-scoring with 43 runs, while Sabbhineni Meghana and Ellyse Perry contributed with 36 and 23 runs, respectively. With this, RCB-W registered their second straight win of the season to climb to top of the points table.
Women’s Premier League 2024: Points Table:

Royal Challengers Bangalore now go on to the top of the points table with two back-to-back wins in their ongoing WPL 2024 campaign. RCB defeated the UP Warriorz in the first game and now with a win against Gujarat Giants, they have 4 points in 2 games, and are at top of the WPL 2024 points table with a NRR of +1.655.
Along with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians have also got 4 points in 2 games as they defeated Delhi Capitals in the tournament opener and registered a dominating win over the Gujarat Giants. Mumbai Indians are currently placed at second spot with four points and NRR of +0.488. Delhi Capitals are placed third in the table with one win and one loss. UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants languish at the bottom two spots with 0 points each.
Women’s Premier League 2024: Most Runs
Mumbai Indians skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is the leading run-scorer of the ongoing WPL 2024. In two matches, Harmanpreet has hammered 101 runs with a highest score of 55 runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore star batter S. Meghana is at second spot after smashing 89 runs in two matches.
Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning holds the third spot after amassing 82 runs in two matches, Her highest score is 51 runs. UP Warriorz’s S. Sehrawat takes fourth place, smashing 76 runs in two games. Delhi Capitals’ Alice Capsey completes the top five run-scorers list with 75 runs to her name.

Currently, the leading wicket-taker in the WPL 2024 tournament is Mumbai Indians star bowler Amelia Kerr. She has picked up six wickets in two matches till now. Royal Challengers Bangalore star leg-spinner Asha Sobhana is at second spot with five wickets to her name.
Delhi Capitals ace pacer Marizanne Kapp takes the third spot after scalping four wickets in two matches in the WPL 2024. Delhi Capitals’ Radha Yadav is next on the list with four scalps to her name. MI-W’s Shabnim Ismail has also taken four wickets in the ongoing tournament and stands at fifth spot in the list.
