Mumbai Indians Women defeated Delhi Capitals Women in the WPL 2025 final.

For the third time in a row, Meg Lanning and her team came very close to winning the Women’s Premier League (WPL) trophy and returned empty-handed. Fans saw the recap of the WPL 2023 final in WPL 2025 final with result margin being the only difference.

Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) and Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) locked horns in the final of the WPL 2025 on Saturday, and once again, DC-W were not able to cross the finishing line. MI-W won their second title in three seasons by defeating DC-W by just eight runs in the WPL 2025 final.

It was the second title for MI in the WPL, and 12th title for the MI franchise globally. It started with DC-W captain Meg Lanning winning the toss and putting MI-W to bat first. MI-W lost both openers for just 14 runs. But then, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt (30 off 28) added 87 runs in 10.2 overs.

Harmanpreet played a captain’s knock and scored 66 off 44 balls. MI-W lost quick wickets in the final overs, but managed to reach 149/7 in 20 overs. DC-W also had a poor start and lost both openers inside three overs.

Jemimah Rodrigues (30 off 21) and Marizanne Kapp (40 off 26) showed some fight. But, they got out at the wrong time. In the end, Niki Prasad (25 off 23) scored a couple of boundaries, but DC-W finished right short of the target and scored 141/9 to lose their third consecutive WPL final.

  • Most wickets in the tournament (Purple Cap) – Amelia Kerr (18 wickets in ten innings)
  • Player of the Tournament (MVP of the Season) – Nat Sciver-Brunt (523 runs and 12 wickets)
  • Emerging Player of the season – Amanjot Kaur (128 runs and 5 wickets)
