Sneh Rana went unsold at the WPL 2025 auction.
On Saturday, February 15, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) announced that Sneha Rana will replace the injured Shreyanka Patil in their squad for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025.
Sneh was previously part of Gujarat Giants (GG) and even captained the franchise in the first season when Beth Mooney was sidelined after the first game. She surprisingly went unsold at the WPL 2025 auction held in last December.
She will now join RCB for INR 30 lakhs. Her WPL record includes six wickets in 12 games at an economy of 9.02.
The reason of Shreyanka Patil being ruled out of the tournament is still not revealed officially. She played a key role in RCB’s title-winning campaign last year, finishing as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets in eight games at an economy of just 7.3. Her overall WPL record includes 19 wickets in 15 games.

RCB announced Rana’s arrival through a social media post on X, expressing excitement as she replaces Shreyanka Patil in the squad.
The post read, “OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Sneh Rana is all set to rock and roll in the Red Blue and Gold threads as Shreyanka Patil’s injury replacement. We can’t wait to see the Rana specials reign supreme!“
Rana has played 52 white-ball matches for India, taking 53 wickets. She is currently not in India’s scheme of things for limited-overs cricket, but featured in the one-off test against South Africa in Chennai last June.
RCB lost several key players before the season began—Sophie Devine (unavailable), Kate Cross (injury), Asha Sobhana (injury), and Sophie Molineux (injury).
The franchise, however, have started the new season in style with a dominant six-wicket win over Gujarat Giants in Vadodara. They chased the mammoth 202-run target with nine balls to spare. Richa Ghosh was named Player of the Match for her half-century in the game.
