WPL 2026 mega auction took place in New Delhi on November 27.

Women Premier League (WPL) 2026 auction took place on Thursday, November 27 in  New Delhi. The event was filled with surprises as some of the players, who were expected to break records, fetched small bids, while a few big games couldn’t even find a single bidder. 

WPL 2026 mega auction saw a total of 277 players going under the hammer, out of which 194 (52 capped and 142 uncapped) were Indians, while 83 (66 capped and 17 uncapped) were uncapped. There were a lot of exciting talents that were but only 67 slots were filled including 23 overseas players.

India’s Deepti Sharma was the most expensive pick of WPL 2026 auction as she fetched INR 3.20 crores by her old franchise UP Warriorz, through RTM. The same franchise also shelled out INR 2.4 crores for Shikha Pandey as she became the fourth expensive Indian player in the history of the league.

Delhi Capitals also made some top picks, adding World Cup winner Shree Charani for INR 1.30 crores, Chinelle Henry for INR 1.30 crores and South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt for INR 1.10 crores. While, Mumbai Indians went heavy for Amelia Kerr, acquiring her for INR 3 crores.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) most expensive pick was Lauren Bell. They acquired her for INR 90 lakhs. One of the biggest surprise was Australian captain Alyssa Healy getting unsold along with Alana King. However, all teams
