Yashasvi Jaiswal admitted to hospital in Mumbai after SMAT 2025 match against Rajasthan - Reports

Yashasvi Jaiswal played for Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025 and was a top performer for his team in the tournament.
Indian Cricket Team opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was taken to hospital for medical treatment after the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) game against Rajasthan. The left-handed batter scored 15 runs as Mumbai won the game but sadly didn’t qualify for the finals. The 23-year-old batter according to an Indian Express scribe was taken to Aditya Birla Hospital.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, as per reports, wasn’t feeling well during the course of the game. Mumbai bowled first after winning the toss and Jaiswal who was suffering stomach cramps saw his condition nosedive as the match went on. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to make a statement as far as Jaiswal’s health is concerned.
But, the Indian Express journalist, Devendra Pandey confirmed that the batter was diagnosed with Acute gastroenteritis. He took to his X account and wrote:
“Yashasvi Jaiswal was suffering from stomach cramps which intensified post the game. He was rushed to Aditya Birla hospital where he was diagnosed with Acute gastroenteritis. He was given Iv medication and diagnosed with ultrasound and CT scan. He is advised to follow medications and rest”

The 23-year-old batter was part of the Indian ODI squad which beat South Africa by a 2-1 margin. Jaiswal, notched up his maiden ODI century when he scored 116 not out in the final ODI match played in Vizag.
This was followed by Jaiswal scoring a brilliant 101 off just 50 balls to help Mumbai beat Haryana in a high-scoring contest. The left-handed batter hit 16 boundaries and six in his knock as Mumbai chased down the 235 target inside 18 overs.
India are set to play two more T20I matches against South Africa before they take a short break. The next assignment for India is at home against New Zealand which consists of ODI and T20I series.
Jaiswal, will be expected to be part of the ODI series after his impressive showing against the Proteas recently. The young batter will be gunning to play more white-ball cricket for India with the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 slated to be held in February.
