Yashasvi Jaiswal reveals he tried to interact with MS Dhoni mid-game in the IPL 2023

Yashasvi Jaiswal has had a wonderful year in 2023. He has recently earned a call-up in the Indian test team after spending a few weeks as a reserve for the World Test Championship Final against Australia at The Oval. Jaiswal, after a decent Ranji Trophy season set the IPL stage on fire with his aggressive batting for Rajasthan Royals. Yashasvi Jaiswal in an interview with Indian Express has revealed the interactions he had with former Indian captain MS Dhoni during the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings clash. Jaiswal scored 625 runs in 14 innings for the Royals including a century against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that “It was a great moment in my life. It was the first time I had seen Dhoni up close. I tried in the middle of games to have a conversation with him. He told me to keep playing cricketing shots and keep faith in myself and keep my mind at peace. There are simple things but they are very difficult to do in real life. You need a lot of patience”. Jaiswal also revealed that he doesn’t like the praise he receives from people. He wants to improve his game and his skills. Jaiswal will be preferred as an opener for the first test against West Indies at Windsor Park in Dominica.
The 21-year-old opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has had wonderful stats to back up his selection in the Indian test team. So far in his career, he has played 15 first-class games and scored 1845 runs at an average of 80.21 with 11 fifty-plus scores. Jaiswal has smashed 9 centuries and 2 half-centuries in 26 first-class innings. Jaiswal’s conversion rate is magnificent. India will play two tests in a month-long tour for the West Indies. Jaiswal got the opportunity to make his case count for the Asia Cup and World Cup as well.
