Yashasvi Jaiswal hasn’t been able to cement his place in the Indian white-ball setup.

Indian Cricket Team batter Yashasvi Jaiswal shared his take on not being a consistent member of the side in white-ball cricket. He said that the decision is not in his hands and whatever is there in his fate, he will get it.

Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket, has cemented his place in the test side within a short span of time. The left-hander has been the leading batter for his side in the longest format, scoring runs in almost every series he has played.

In white-ball cricket as well, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been sensational. However, due to the lack of space and presence of other performers, he hasn’t been able to cement his place in the white-ball setup despite good performances in limited opportunities.

Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out from the squad for the Asia Cup 2025 and also hasn’t been named in the Indian side for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia. However, he will be part of the three-match ODI series but it is unlikely that he will get an opportunity due to the presence of Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma.

Being in the white-ball team is not my decision, and it’s not even in my control – Yashasvi Jaiswal

Speaking about his place in the Indian white-ball side, he said that he doesn’t think about it as it is not in his control. He added that he tries to live in present and whatever is written for him, he will get it. Speaking to Raj Shamani on his YouTube channel, he said:

“Being in the white-ball team is not my decision, and it’s not even in my control. There’s no point in thinking about things that aren’t in my hands. I prefer to focus on improving what I can control.

“I try to live in the present and believe that whatever happens, happens for good. Whatever is written in my fate, no one can take it from me. And whatever isn’t meant for me, no one can give it.”
