Yograj Singh has bashed MS Dhoni several times over the years.

Yograj Singh, former Indian cricketer and father of legendary Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has once again made headlines with his vision to transform the Indian team. The former India cricketer defended Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and emphasized that he can help them return to their best on the international stage.

The 67-year-old also brought up MS Dhoni in the discussion, stating that he has never differentiated between him and his son. Notably, Yograj has been a strong critic of Dhoni in the past and has accused him of deliberately shortening Yuvraj’s career.

Speaking on Taruwar Kohli’s Find a Way podcast, Yograj emphasized that if given the opportunity to coach the Indian team, he would help senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma regain their prime.

Yograj said, “If you make me the coach of the Indian team, I will use these same players to transform it into a side that will be unbeatable for the ages.

Who will bring out their capabilities? Because people are always ready to throw them out of the team—drop Rohit Sharma or drop Kohli—but why? They are going through a rough patch and I want to tell my kids that I am with you.

While discussing his plans to transform the team, Yograj mentioned MS Dhoni, stating that he has never differentiated between his son Yuvraj and other players, not even Dhoni.

He added, “I’ll tell them let’s play Ranji Trophy, or I will make Rohit run 20 km. Nobody does that. These players are diamonds. You don’t throw them out. I will be like their father. I have never differentiated between Yuvraj and the others, not even Dhoni. But what is wrong is wrong.

Dhoni is currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as the wicketkeeper for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Many believe this could be the final IPL season for the legendary cricketer.
