“I am ready to die”- Yograj Singh on fighting loneliness after son Yuvraj Singh and wife Shabnam left him

Yograj Singh said that he relies on strangers for food.
Former India pacer Yograj Singh has opened up about his battle with loneliness and stated that he is ready to die. This comes after his son and well-known Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh moved in with his mother, Shabnam, after their divorce, and scarcely keeps in touch with his father.
In a recent interview, Yograj Singh—once an Indian fast bowler and now a renowned coach—paints a vivid image of loneliness, remorse, and emotional tiredness.
The 62-year-old Yograj Singh stated that he has been spending time by himself in his hometown and that he had nothing left to see or do.
“I sit alone in the evening and have no one at home. I rely on strangers for food, sometimes one person, sometimes the other. I don’t bother anyone, though. Someone or the others gets food for me if I am hungry. I kept house help and cooks; they served and went away.”
“I love my mother, kids, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and everyone in the family. But I don’t ask for anything. I am ready to die. My life is complete; whenever God wants, he can take me with him. I am so thankful to God; I pray, and he keeps giving,” Yograj Singh said in an interview for Vintage Studio.
He had two kids, Yuvraj and Zoravar, from his first marriage to Shabnam Kaur. The marriage eventually dissolved amidst constant marital conflict. According to Yuvraj, he proposed the divorce since his parents “were always fighting.”
“There was a lot of anger and feelings of revenge”—Yograj Singh about his relationships

After them, Yograj married Neena Bundhel, also known as Satbir Kaur, for the second time. Together, they have a daughter named Amarjot and a boy named Victor.
Singh claims that Shabnam and Yuvraj’s departure from his house was the turning point. Yograj claimed he was powerless and questioned why the people he cared about continued to abandon him. Yograj emphasized that he did not think poorly of anyone, even if he acknowledged that he was not innocent.
“It was God’s play, what was written for me. There was a lot of anger and feelings of revenge. Then cricket came into my life, got discontinued, and made Yuvi play cricket; he played and left. Then, I got married again and had two kids; they also left for the US. A few films were also released; time passed away and came back to the point where it all started. I was asking myself, I did all of this for what? Do you have anyone with you now? This should have happened with me; it happened for good,” he said.
Yograj Singh played six ODIs and one test for India in the 1980s, before injuries ended his blossoming cricket career. Yograj notoriously subjected Yuvraj to a demanding training routine from childhood, pushing him to acquire the power, timing, and athleticism that would eventually propel him to the ranks of India’s finest white-ball match winners.
Their relationship was tense, but Yograj’s influence on Yuvraj’s technique and mental tenacity is widely acknowledged.
