After announcing his retirement, Stuart Broad had talked about the mental impact of Yuvraj Singh hitting him for six sixes in an over.

Stuart Broad received hearty wishes from Yuvraj Singh after he announced his retirement from all cricket on Saturday, July 29. Broad, 37, was hit for six sixes by Yuvraj Singh in a match against England during the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 in Durban, South Africa.

The fifth and final Ashes 2023 Test against Australia is under underway at the Oval, where Broad surprised the cricketing world by announcing his retirement from the sport.

In 167 Test matches for England throughout the course of a career that started in Sri Lanka in 2007, the tall bowler from Nottinghamshire claimed more than 600 victims. After James Anderson, he has taken the second-most wickets for England.

He also participated in 121 ODIs, taking 178 wickets, and 56 T20Is, picking 65. Broad was a member of the England side that won the T20 World Cup in 2010.

Broad may only be remembered for one thing, despite his notoriety and records: he was the first bowler in T20I history to be hit for six sixes in a single over. Yuvraj Singh, a former southpaw, hit Broad for six consecutive maximums during a match against India in the 2007 T20 World Cup; the over, which is still talked about today, rightfully went down in history.

"Take a bow Stuart Broad. Congratulations on an incredible Test career: Yuvraj Singh wishes Stuart Broad

Yuvraj Singh, who hit Broad for 6 sixes in a single over in the T20 World Cup 2007 put out a heartfelt message on Twitter for the legendary English bowler.

"Take a bow Stuart Broad. Congratulations on an incredible Test career, one of the finest and most feared red ball bowlers, and a real legend! Your journey and determination have been super inspiring. Good luck for the next leg Broady!" Yuvraj wrote.

Meanwhile, Broad had talked about the mental impact of Yuvraj Singh’s 6 sixes in his over.

He had said in press conference: "Yeah, it was obviously a pretty tough day. What would I have been: 21, 22? [22] I learned loads. I pretty much based a whole mental routine through that experience knowing that I was left very short as an international performer in that moment. I'd rushed my preparation. I didn't have any sort of pre-ball routine. I didn't have any focus, particularly, and I started building my 'warrior mode' that I call it after that experience.”

Broad is bowling for the final time in his international career in the Australian second innings as the visitors aim to chase down 384 runs target to win the fifth Test and the series at The Oval.
