Yuzvendra Chahal scripts history at Eden Gardens, Becomes highest-wicket taker in IPL history

Yuzvendra Chahal made his IPL debut at Eden Gardens against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Rajasthan Royals leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has created history by dismissing Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana. Chahal has become the leading wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League history. He has overtaken Dwayne Bravo to become number one wicket taker in the IPL. Cahahal has been a dominating figure in the Indian Premier League. For Rajasthan Royals, he has been a magnificent entry in the camp. Chahal has been a crucial wicket-taker for the RR and he played a magnificent part in their campaign to become runners-up last season. He also won the purple cap last year and is currently in the race for his second consecutive purple cap. 

Eden Gardens proved lucky for Chahal

Eden Gardens is one special ground for Yuzvendra Chahal. 10 years ago he made his IPL debut at the same ground against Kolkata Knight Riders. He started his career with Mumbai Indians and then went on to play for RCB from 2014 to 2021 and then for Rajasthan Royals from 2022. Chahal has taken 143 games in these 10 years to become the leading wicket-taker at the same ground where he made his debut. Chahal has bowled with a great economy of 7.66 in this high-scoring league and also played his cricket mostly at M. Chinnaswamy stadium. Dwayne Bravo for CSK, Gujarat Lions, & MI played 162 games and picked up 183 wickets in his IPL career.

Mumbai’s Piyush Chawla is 3rd on this list with 174 wickets in 176 games, and Amit Mishra is 4th on this list with 172 wickets in 160 games. It's complete domination of spinners in the top wicket-taker list as R Ashwin is 5th in the list with 171 wickets in 195 games.
