Yuzvendra Chahal spotted watching IND vs SL ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in Mumbai

Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was seen watching IND vs SL ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in Mumbai.

Out-of-favor India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was spotted in the Wankhede Stadium watching the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and Sri Lanka on November 2, 2023.

Chahal was left out of Indian World Cup squad as the team management opted to take Axar Patel as a backup for Ravindra Jadeja in the form of an all-rounder. With Kuldeep Yadav regaining brilliant form in ODIs in 2022 and 2023, Chahal found himself sidelined.

The leg-spinner last played ODIs against New Zealand early this year. Since then, he has been with the team and plays in T20Is. But Indian team preferred Kuldeep Yadav as the wrist spin option in the playing XI.

He was in the squad for West Indies tour but warmed to the bench as Kuldeep performed well. Chahal was hoping to impress the selectors before the World Cup but was ignored for Asia Cup 2023 as well, and he missed the boat for the World Cup 2023 as well.

But he spent his time well, as he signed a county cricket deal with Kent and performed well there.

Yuzvendra Chahal enjoys seeing India play Sri Lanka in Wankhede Stadium

India are playing Sri Lanka in their 7th league match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 2, 2023. Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Rohit Sharma hit a boundary on the first ball he faced from Dilshan Madushanka. But the bowler struck back in a big way the next ball, as he uprooted Rohit’s off stump the very next ball.

But since then, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill have added more than 170 runs together, and both have completed their half-centuries with a sublime display of batting.

Amidst this, the cameraperson on the ground captured Yuzvendra Chahal enjoying the action on the ground.
