He hasn’t earned a call-up from England’s white-ball squad after 2021, and Crawley hasn’t played any T20Is in his career.
“IPL biggest franchise tournament in the World”
England’s opener looked hopeful about the opportunity to participate in the biggest T20 league in the world. Zak Crawley said, “It’s the biggest franchise tournament in the world. It’s the only place to see all the best play against each other. It’s great cricket, and to be able to test yourself in that tournament would be awesome.” Crawley also talked about Harry Brook, who got the opportunity to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2023. He said, “He’s going to do a lot of stuff that I wish I could do in my career.”
Recently, Alex Hales announced his retirement from international cricket, leaving an opportunity for others in England’s opening slot. Zak Crawley expressed that there are a few ahead of him in that race and said, “There’s obviously a few guys ahead of me at the moment. But If I score some runs, then hopefully my name starts getting thrown into the hat.” Hales’ absence has opened the door for many players in the English squad, and there will be a race among the county players to secure the spot along with Jason Roy.
