Mason Greenwood to feature in EA FC 24

Greenwood has joined Getafe on loan

The next football video game EA FC 24 will feature Mason Greenwood when it debuts on September 29.

Mason Greenwood, a Manchester United player currently on loan at Getafe, was kicked out of FIFA 22 after being detained on January 30, 2022, and hasn't returned since.

But according to The Athletic, the 21-year-old will be in the most recent iteration of the game as he gets ready to play football again.

EA Sports issued a statement that said:

'EA Sports FC 24 authentically reflects the active rosters of teams and clubs in the real world of football. As he is now part of an active roster with Getafe CF, Mason Greenwood will be included in FC 24.'

'As Greenwood was not part of an active roster at the time of our cut-off date for final team and player data, he will not appear in Ultimate Team at launch'.

Due to the fact that Greenwood was not a member of an active squad as of EA's cut-off date, he will not be included in the well-liked Ultimate Team mode.

In early 2022, Greenwood was taken into custody. On February 2 of this year, the allegations against him, which included attempted rape and assault, were dropped.

Mason Greenwood has been loaned to Getafe after Manchester United confirmed in August that he would depart the team once a private investigation was completed.

Mason and everyone else involved appreciate the challenges of him starting over at Manchester United, according to the statement from United.

United's statement read: 'All those involved, including Mason, recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Manchester United.

'It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome.

'Based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged. That said, as Mason publicly acknowledges today, he has made mistakes which he is taking responsibility for.'
